Biochemical/Chemical Engineer

To qualify for this technically challenging position must possess a BE and ME in Biochemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, and a minimum of 2 years experience. Successful candidate must have developed strong biochemical, biomedical and/or biopharmaceutical engineering capabilities and have a knack for innovative solutions to technically challenging problems through work experience in a research and product and/or a process development environment.

Good general industrial process knowledge and strong interest in conducting research and development on advanced fermentation and bioreactor technologies, tissue engineering, and cell culturing; including mammalian cells, fungi, plant cells, insect cells, etc. Interests and capabilities to include reactor technology development, reactor equipment specification/design, instrumentation, experimental skills and working knowledge of laboratory and pilot operations.

An inquisitive, problem-solving disposition is required. Responsibilities will encompass development of biotechnology equipment, new process and new products in an advanced R&D environment. Applications for the technologies include production of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins and tissue engineering,

In this role, the candidate will take responsibility for assigned projects from inception to completion. The candidate will generate project requirements to resolve product/process problems and to support development of new products/processes. The candidate will initiate technical investigations, prepare protocols, develop, and apply advanced theories, methods and research techniques in solution of complex and advanced biotechnical problems.
