Manager - Environment, Health and Safety

Location Pallavaram-Chennai. Reporting to Site – Head. Level Middle Management
Qualification: Required Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), with recognised diploma in Industrial Safety. Experience: Required 8-10 years of experience of which minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory position in manufacturing & safety. 2-4 years of experience in ISO 14001 and safety function.

Languages Preffered English, Tamil. Job Responsibilities " '- To manage fulfilment of organisation's obligations, statutory or otherwise, concerning safety and environment. To function as Management Representative and maintain Environmental Management System conforming to ISO 14001 standards. To liaise with government officials, professional organizations, customers on Health, Safety and Environment related actions.

To facilitate in identifying and updating hazards and evaluate the accident producing potential of systems, processes and activities. To facilitate in identifying and updating aspects and impacts on the environment of various processes and activities and proposing corrective measures. Develop and update Environment and safety related policy, standards and procedures. Organise periodical Environment and safety meetings. Organise for EHS internal and external audits and followup closure of NCR's

Periodical measurement and evaluation of EHS statistical data and propose appropriate remedial action. Competencies Technical : Proficiency in ISO 14001 requirements, Uptodate knowledge of statutory obligation on safety and environment, Good process orientation, Behavioural: Planning and organising skills, Analytical Skills, Presentation, Documentation skills, Interpersonal & Communication skills. Other Information - Conversant with MS Office, Knowledge & Contacts with external / governmental agencies.
