Job Description: You will be responsible for understanding customer needs and business processes, and support implementation of OSS Products. Should be able to assist customers in integrating products from different vendors, handling of product upgrades, product acceptance testing, onsite services for problem resolution including escalation of problems to various levels in the product development team.
Very good customer facing skills, and strong problem solving skills are a must. Your primary responsibility will be to handle import of data from customer locations and recreate the data in the local database. You should help the Engineering team in trying to re-create the customer database environment locally. You should be strong in Oracle (8i/9i) with exposure to Data import/export handling and utilities.
To ream and interpret import log file, dictionary management including extend management, understand how tnsnames.ora works and be able to connect through sqlplus and understand how to run a script. You should manage Unix file systems, mirrors, partition and disk management. You will also be working with file compression and decompression utilities on both Unix and Windows NT platforms.
Experience Level: 3 to 4 years. Primary Skills: J2EE (or) C++ / Unix (Sun Solaris)/ Windows OS / SQL / Oracle. Secondary skills: Problem tracking tools. Prior Experience in: Experience in development / Testing / Production Support / Installation of OSS / BSS Products; having dealt with International customers will be an added advantage.
